I just swapped out my old motherboard (MSI) due to a failed BIOS update. Now I have the new one (ASUS). Should I perform a clean install of Windows? Also, I’m using NVMe as the primary drive C and HDD as backup D. Does a clean install impact my data on drive D? All my game saves are saved there.

I recommend removing MSI drivers first, then installing ASUS drivers. But if your system is shaky, it's better to reinstall Windows.

You can remove MSI drivers by following the instructions on the provided link. Downloading the latest drivers isn’t necessary if you’re using the correct method.

From the list of add or remove programs, only LAN, audio, and chipset are required; any other items are optional. Windows updates should install drivers for these components.

I don't see any MSI entries in the control panel program list.
