The Civilization VI game has encountered a temporary cessation of operation.
I've encountered a problem within Civilization VI where the game frequently pauses momentarily—typically lasting a few seconds—following almost any interaction, such as accessing a menu or issuing an order. Following these freezes, the game resumes its normal operation until another action is taken. Additionally, I’m experiencing significantly slower loading times than my friend, despite his computer possessing superior hardware specifications. During new game sessions, he initiates his initial actions a minute or more before I even begin playing.
I've diligently attempted numerous solutions to resolve this issue. These include reinstalling the game and Steam, updating my video and audio drivers, validating game files (after initiating the process within the game itself – three files require validation, which I understand is common), reinstalling DirectX, and re-installing Vcredist (I successfully installed it from the 2012 folder, but encountered an error in the 2015 version due to a conflict with existing software). I’ve also tried running the game as an administrator and executed the System File Checker.
If anyone is aware of a resolution or has encountered a comparable situation, I would greatly appreciate any assistance. It’s frustrating to want to play with my friends when these persistent freezes consistently disrupt the experience.
