I prefer Chrome more, while I've relied heavily on Firefox but haven't felt motivated to change. Let's focus on Chrome.

You mentioned having a 512GB SSD and suspecting Chrome might not be causing problems despite its capacity. It seems your device has been in use for over a year, with the issue only appearing recently.

It's model V44.2403. The bit size isn't clear, which might be the issue.

I need to download it, but my internet is really bad. Plus, I'm excited about saving money to build my own computer! 😄

I’d handle it by following the standard procedure. Would you like me to guide you through the steps?

Don't stress, others are facing the same issue. Until Google resolves it, reinstalling won't work since problems persist even after reinstalling. Consider switching to Firefox in the meantime.

I used edge but didn’t see the ecosystem. Once you explore the Google ecosystem, it’s tough to leave. It performs very well. With Chrome Dev updates, improvements happen fast and bugs are fixed quickly. Apart from the memory problem they mentioned, which they’re slowly working on, I’d suggest trying the Chrome beta or dev version to see if that solves the issue.
