Hi, I'm just starting out with PC building and thinking about upgrading to an EVGA GEFORCE RTX 3060 TI FTW3 ULTRA GAMING LHR with 8GB RAM. I want to confirm if my motherboard can support it. The board I have is an Asus Prime B450M-A/CSM. Also, if it doesn't matter, I'd appreciate knowing whether my power supply is a VS650 (650W, 80 PLUS White Certified).

It doesn't matter if you have a PCI Express 16x port.

That's correct, compatibility is what matters.

Your motherboard supports PCIe 3.0, and the graphics card also works with PCIe 4.0. However, it doesn’t matter much since you’d need an extremely powerful graphics card to turn PCIe 3.0 into a bottleneck. You should use a solid power supply with over 650 W to run the graphics card efficiently.

I'd agree with the others. The PCIe gap between 3 and 4 on the GPU side doesn't matter much. Still, if you want significantly better performance than a new card, upgrading to another model would be the next best option.

Sure, I might consider upgrading the motherboard, but right now I just need a GPU upgrade. Thanks!

It's better to use a gold-rated PSU rather than a bronze one.
