The chair is causing your display to shut down.
I recently acquired a hidden lab soft weave chair. I also own a BenQ monitor with an included remote. A few days after getting the chair, I experienced occasional shocks and brief monitor shutdowns when I stood up. My secondary monitor remains inactive. I suspect static discharge is interfering with the IR receiver. I’m concerned this could affect the screen’s performance. I’ve covered the receiver with electrical tape, but the issue continues occasionally. What solutions might help?
It appears the same situation is occurring here. I question its connection to the IR receiver.
I’m considering this idea but need more clarity. The metal door frame is a good start, so using a small chain or an anti-static wrist strap might work. I’d like to connect it from the wheel base to the door frame, but I’m worried about whether there’s enough contact with the chair’s structure for it to be effective.
The BenQ EX2780Q 27" appears to be a BenQ product, likely including a remote feature. Your experience of brightness decreasing in the evening suggests a monitor-related issue. It might also depend on the specific model you're using. Knowing this helps avoid confusion about potential harm.
