I tried the open beta with some friends and noticed some unusual changes. Besides common complaints, we found the in-game chat now has heavy censorship, which feels quite restrictive. While I understand the intent behind blocking offensive language, there’s a limit where it starts to feel excessive. Just type words like "Gay", "Jew", "DLC" or "White male" in chat and see what happens—usually it just shows "*****". Any further comments?

Is it a Christian server, because there is no swearing in a Christian server?

They say it's a swear word according to EA.

I really enjoy this game, but now I’m obsessed with seeing it fail completely. It feels like a huge waste of time.

I don’t recall the words you intended to type, but the conversation was filtered out. I’ve mostly liked the beta and prefer the gunplay over BF1, though the overly cautious chat feels annoying.

It seems they might want to reduce the restrictions since it's a game suitable for older audiences. Everyone understands the value they're getting.

Now you're free to remove any restrictions completely. We're mature enough, after all. Yet I still find myself realizing it's 2018... So... yes, that's it.

Well... it's interesting how Netflix reviews often get shortcuts like typing "Nflix." Cutting off chat feels unfair. Ideally it should let you choose per person instead. Still, aside from a few niche sites, most folks aren't bothered when kids online say things like "Jews" or "Women." Off-topic but a real pain—Steams censoring is frustrating. Why can’t it remember fake birthdays or block business accounts? That would make more sense. Probably the companies that let you check Steam don’t care, and those that do should stop it.
