They've essentially stayed the same since BO2; you can't claim world at war and modern warfare 3 are identical. I'm hoping the Mw1 remaster arrives separately so I'll have all the great cod games on my Steam account.

Play on compact maps featuring WWII-style laser weapons. Includes some killstreaks, perks, and nades. MW3 version uses modern laser guns with identical animations and effects. Likely built on the same foundation.

Global conflict, relentless kills, diverse vehicles, multiple map options, detachable parts, zombie scenario, cooperative play. Each weapon felt unique, with countless grenade types—no half a million variations. No perks in MW3, 20-25 kill streaks, no vehicles, limited map diversity, no detachable limbs, 'infected' mode, spec operations, and special ops. Guns sounded alike, offering a vast selection of grenades—about a million. Maps included large-scale settings like Seelow, outskirts, and Downfall.

MW3 and WaW have weapons that look alike. Load both and confirm they’re not similar. I can too—I own both on Xbox 360. Spray control is pulling the right thumbstick down. Guns with excessive recoil are outdated.

I'm all in on Infinite Warfare—it seems to match up with BLOPS3 in terms of gameplay and design. Still, many of us feel we've had enough of shooters that lean heavily into futuristic themes. If I'm after a shooter like that, I'd stick to titles from earlier eras such as Halo or Destiny. COD peaked during the modern/old-school warfare period (COD4-MW3). While I appreciate the visuals in Infinite Warfare, after several future-focused releases I'm craving the classic world-war shooter experience again. I'll try it out, but I'm more eager for a COD remaster. The recent additions like boost jumping, wall running, and chaotic sliding are entertaining, but they've become repetitive. Advanced Warfare and BLOPS3 both brought the "Supply Drop" mechanic—either you grind endlessly for free items or pay for them. The system feels frustrating because of slow rewards and duplicate selling options that don't add real value. These futuristic titles are making a bad impression, and many players are simply tired of it. Don't forget that BLOPS3's new weapons have a low drop rate (0.8%). TL;DR: There are games ahead of us, COD doesn’t need to chase the future, and some mechanics can feel annoying.

A lot of cutting-edge shooters are available beyond CoD. The current landscape is saturated with titles from various companies and franchises, not just CoD. There’s a lot of discussion online suggesting studios return to WWII or even WWI-era games, which I’m willing to hear for a refreshing change. It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen a new World War era FPS released.

This appears to be accurate. According to the support page, the game is only available on Legacy, Legacy Pro, and Digital Deluxe versions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. It seems they might have added an option for users to download from other sources as well.

No one will pay that much for this game. People are hoping for Steam deals to bring down the price to sixty dollars. The cod4 remaster is out of the question.
