The cable modem restarts unexpectedly.
I've got a cable modem from Optimum that's likely a few months old. It started acting up yesterday, rebooting randomly and taking a long time to come back online. I didn't pay much attention at first. Now everything seems fine until it happens again without reason. Notably, when this occurred, one of my TVs running Plex connected to a WiFi extender stayed online. I work from home, so these internet issues are really frustrating. Optimum has been unreliable lately—coax cables were replaced about a month ago, and the router sometimes cuts out and then restarts after a minute. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
They might not offer much, but they can swap it in. Or purchase a new one and keep your existing one if the service allows it.
