Good evening, I’ve been pushing my CPU and GPU today and I suspect I might have caused damage. After some gaming sessions I experienced several crashes, reset the GPU overclock to see if that triggered the issue, and noticed electrical crackling sounds followed by a burnt smell before the PC shut down. Now it won’t turn on. I’m unsure what’s causing the problem or how to fix it. It was an older Gigabyte 980Ti model, so it might already be too late. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards, Tousain.

'450w psu' lacks specific details. The precise brand and model should be clarified.

The make and model of the PSU is important for figuring out if it caused the GPU to fail.

You might enjoy it...but keep your nose to the grindstone! Initially, disconnect from the power source and then begin searching for the pungent, copper-like odor of fried electronics. My top spots would be the vents of the PSU, as that’s where it’s most likely to be. The GPU follows next once you remove it from the system. Wherever you detect the strongest scent, the burnt component is probably nearby.
