Hello, I’m setting up my initial Threadripper configuration but it doesn’t power on. I’ve tried numerous fixes and still can’t get it to boot. I’m unsure if I’ve missed any solution. Here are the details: CPU – AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7960X, Motherboard – Asrock WRX90 WS EVO SSD, RAM – 8x Micron 48GB DDR5-5600 RDIMM 2Rx8, PSU – Super Flower Leadex Platinum 8Pack Edition 2000W, GPU – Inno3D GeForce RTX 5090 X3 OC. I’ve updated BIOS via IPMI, checked for RAM and display errors, removed parts one by one, and even tried different RAM sticks. After some patience, peripherals started working once I reset CMOS and used only the RTX 5090 in PCIE slot 1. Still no success. I’ve also experimented with a clean SSD, USB Windows boot drive, and even flashed the BIOS, but nothing changed. I’m considering hardware upgrades and suspect a memory or bus issue, possibly linked to the CPU or motherboard. I’ve tested everything on other systems and checked spare parts without success. I reached out to a friend for help, asked for a replacement motherboard, and sent my current one. I’ve been working on it for weeks, but the problem persists. I’m now trying to isolate the issue by removing components and performing a full reset, hoping to find a fix. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

In BIOS, have you adjusted your RAM speeds to 3200 or 3600MHz? You might be thinking it's a memory training problem. That’s normal. Your CPU is a non-Pro model with just four memory channels, which explains the situation. This board is designed for Pro WX TR CPUs, not your non-Pro processor. You may want to upgrade to a PRO 7965WX or replace your motherboard with a TRX50 model like the TRX50 WS from Asrock.

I understand, I've checked everything, but your take on the CPU might be right. I'll look into it and if it's true, I'll admit I'm the biggest mistake person.

I'll check the memory first, then the CPU. If it's the CPU, I'm really confused.

As @igormp noted, the issue lies with the CPU. It isn't listed for that motherboard. ASRock > WRX90 WS EVO
