The breaker activates unexpectedly during gameplay.
When I attempt to play demanding games, my circuit trips frequently. This issue began some time ago and wasn’t severe until I tried Cities: Skylines II. I launched the game and saw the breaker switch off within 15 seconds after loading the menu. I checked various rooms on different circuits, and it consistently trips to the same circuit. These connections link to the bedrooms, and the switches differ from others—specifically, they’re General Electric models, just a lighter grey with a distinct shape. Additional details: each switch handles 15 Amps, the house is about ten years old, the power supply supports 750 watts, the GPU runs at 4080, and it only trips during simulation-heavy titles like Cities: Skylines II, Stormworks, etc.
Request an electrician's help and describe the issue clearly. It seems there might be another issue higher up on the circuit, possibly a faulty breaker. Could be related to a tripped breaker affecting more than just your computer? Make sure to go to the electrical box and reset the breaker when it trips.
Have you considered replacing the PSU from your previous computer? It’s possible the PSU isn’t functioning correctly, leading to an unexpected increase in power consumption. The issue might actually be due to damaged wiring elsewhere.
The internal connections wear down gradually. They need to remain functional for more than a decade. Connecting directly to the wall power source is recommended, using the PSU cable provided with your 750W power supply rather than an older adapter, even if the connector type matches.
Are you sure the space isn’t connected to another circuit via a wall to a bathroom or another area? There shouldn’t be heaters or TVs, and so on. You’ll likely need an electrician to check the load capacity—most rooms can easily handle a 750W draw. In fact, people with higher power ratings often don’t trip breakers.
Almost certain it isn’t linked together. The only possible connection seems to be a tiny fan near a vent above the ceiling for heating or air conditioning.
My previous machine was a laptop, while this one is a desktop. I'm connecting it straight to the power source (though I should consider using a power strip later).
