I might have misunderstood my question. The main issue is if a 5900x setup would be too weak for the 4080 and whether upgrading is necessary. It doesn’t seem to really matter, though. I mostly play Valorant, Fortnite, and a few horror games.

For the game you're playing, it's still quite good. It's just from a few years ago and a high-end version. Avoid this generation; consider the one ahead. Probably, at 1440p, your device will remain functional for many more years.
