Great update, the HY510 isn't conductive so no shorts occurred. I recommend reassembling and following the CMOS reset steps from page 18 of the manual at gigabyte.com. Use only a small amount of thermal paste—just a light touch will suffice. For optimal heat transfer, ensure the CPU and cooler are in direct contact with minimal gaps; the paste fills those tiny spaces to improve conduction.

I put everything back together again and cleared the CMOS. The fan still spins but doesn’t boot. I didn’t apply any thermal paste this time because I was worried about damaging it again.

Next step is to test a basic setup. Put in the CPU and one stick of RAM in the nearest socket to it (DDR4_2 channel A). For wiring, link ATX power, CPU power, and fan to the CPU fan header on top of the board. On the back, attach the front panel and speaker (red wire toward rear, black toward front). Avoid connecting a monitor; your CPU lacks integrated graphics so it won’t help. Power it on. If you hear beep codes from the speaker indicating issues (https://www.electronicshub.org/gigabyte-...eep-codes/), proceed. Once the system starts, expect 1-3 beep codes if no VGA is present. Insert the graphics card and try booting again. If successful, power down and recheck components one by one until everything functions properly. Good luck!

Check carefully before replacing the RAM. Look for thermal paste on the contacts or inside the socket—it can block heat flow and cause issues. If present, gently wipe the RAM stick or socket with isopropyl alcohol using a q-tip, being careful not to leave any lint in the socket.
