I have a gigabyte AB350M-HD3 with a Ryzen 5 3600 processor and an 8x2 16GB RAM kit using a 3600mhz Corsair vengeance RGB pro. (Assuming the motherboard supports 3600, I’m using 3200.) I’ve experimented with resetting the CMOS by turning off power, inserting the new battery, and leaving it for a while, then shorting the pins, but the BIOS still resets after switching off the power.

I mean changing the power connection to cut off the electricity supply. It’s similar to shutting down a device or disconnecting the main power source.

I purchased fresh units and tested four additional batteries, but all failed to function.
