What's your upgrade allowance? It seems a fresh board plus a CPU would be the most practical choice since the 7700k isn't a major jump from what you currently have.

Budget? A pre-owned 7700k seems pretty worn out now, and the current lowest price for gaming isn’t much better than an i5 upgrade. Around $150 would be a solid deal compared to a brand-new Ryzen setup, or even a used one with a Ryzen 3600(x) and B450 board.
