Exploring potential expansions for Battlefield 4 without committing to a purchase, while considering the lack of player interest in certain maps. Reflecting on the second assault scenario and identifying maps to steer clear of.

Choosing your preferred gameplay style matters a lot. My top pick is Second Assault thanks to Metro. The other expansions offer better weapons if that interests you. How do you feel about the premium?

I believe the second assault is something to skip; dragon's teeth was great in my opinion. Following that, the focus should be on China's rise or a naval strike. I can't confirm the last stand, but it seems like my personal favorite. If not, I'd recommend going premium or leaving, since it's relatively affordable. Otherwise, just play with the standard maps—it's not too rare among them.

Based on what I've seen, most other content beyond the Battlefield 4 maps and recent expansions isn't available anymore. I only had premium for PS4, so I'm unsure about PC options, but there weren't many ways to access older expansions. It was also tough to find anything for pre-latest releases. So, I'd recommend going with the latest update. Earlier, Second Assault games were still accessible quite easily.

Dragon's Teeth and Naval Strike are currently the top-rated DLC maps according to my perspective, while China Rising maps attract a fair amount of interest. Second Assault maps tend to appear mostly on 24/7 Metro servers. The next DLC is expected soon, and it’s likely to become the most popular for a while. If you can only choose one, why not wait for that release?

From my region the premium mainly comes from dead servers. It’s mainly for a few weapon skins and loading priority—likely you can get a decent deal for premium around 15-30 USD.

They each provide a unique experience, though my least preferred is Dragons Teeth. However, I can't claim one is completely bad. The final DLC is launching soon, so you might want to wait and observe how it performs. Alternatively, opting for the premium version is still a reasonable choice since it's relatively affordable now.

Naval Strike was my top choice, followed by Dragons Teeth, though it might make sense to delay the final stand since that one is coming soon. It looks solid after the alpha test and will attract many players because it's new. As others noted, watch for a premium special—definitely worth it when you can get it for $15–30.

I wouldn't watch China Rising. I've liked second assault, dragons teeth, and naval strike.
