I've heard about some problems and it's unclear if they were server issues or software problems. I remember watching a streamer with good FPS, but when the servers became overloaded their FPS dropped. Another streamer had the same issue after playing for a long time, so they restarted and thought it was a memory leak. One person had to remove their video drivers and reinstall them, which seemed to fix the problem. There are definitely many reasons why performance might be affected, but it's not unusual for some people to experience this.
The game's performance isn't great. I tried the beta version and it didn't run smoothly, believing they had resolved the issues. After receiving the game, it continued to underperform, leading me to request a refund.
It's accurate that the game runs poorly. My system is an i7 4770K with an 1080 Ti. I run games at 1440p on my PC, but for BF2042 I lowered the resolution to 1080p and kept graphics settings minimal, yet drops still occur as low as 40 FPS. To be honest, my CPU is nearly ten years old, and I believe upgrading would help with newer titles like BF2042. Still, optimization remains a significant challenge.
