Looking for ways to restore the device? It’s running Surface Go 2 with 128 GB storage, Wi-Fi, and 8 GB RAM. I’ve tried rebooting via sfc/scannow, removing and reinstalling the battery drivers, but nothing has resolved the issue.

The battery option isn't listed in the personalization menu alongside taskbar settings on Windows 11.

On Windows 11 there isn't a dedicated "Turn system icons on and off" option. Instead, you might see icons in the general menu or tray. Do you notice any signal when the laptop is connected? Is the icon presence consistent across devices? And are you certain it's not hidden in the tray?

The interface includes system icons for Pen Menu, Touch Keyboard, and Virtual Touchpad, but lacks common controls like clock, volume, network, power, etc. It no longer shows a plug-in indicator or the former Network/Volume tray. The Battery Saver option is also missing.

From looking it up, seems to be a general bug in Windows 11. Microsoft support replies include: -Create a new user account -SFC/Scannow, DISM restoreimage -Update BIOS As such, it seems like Microsoft Support has no idea what the issue actually is. How to Fix Battery Icon Missing from Taskbar - Windows 11 — Tech How (techy.how) This website seems to have some decent solutions - I know you said you reinstalled the battery driver but have you tried the solution with the AC adapter driver? And, are there any recent Windows updates you could roll back?

Thanks! I'll check the updates and see if anything changed. I'm hoping for a fix there. I'll review my recent changes since the last update, which might be relevant. EDIT: My most recent update was on the 15th. I began experiencing this issue just a few days ago.

Thanks for your assistance @da na! I also have some positive updates! Last night my Surface lost power because of its own battery drain. When I tried to turn it on this morning, it was completely off. After plugging it in, the battery icon reappeared on the taskbar and the Battery Saver option appeared in the menu. I’m hoping this issue gets resolved permanently!
