I just discovered something that might interest you. I was browsing the BIOS settings for my ASUS B550 to check if a newer version with AMD Ryzen 5000 support was available. Although there was an update yesterday, no mention was made about the new CPU. It wasn’t until I reviewed older BIOS versions that I realized AMD 5000 support was actually introduced in August. This isn’t limited to ASUS—Gigabyte and Asrock also released their AMD 5000 BIOSes starting in August. Hopefully, this means more reliable BIOS updates once they become available.

You asked if you meant x570. The announcement about the Ryzen 5000 came in early October, and we had been aware of the chips since August, which explains why.

Asus launched the updated BIOS for the B550-i board on October 29, 2020. The latest version is 1.1.0.0.

Typical boards running Agesa V2 1.0.8.0 usually support Zen 3, while many boards using Agesa V2 1.1.0.0 offer complete Zen 3 functionality
