The Azure site displays their worldwide network. They say IP traffic remains completely inside their global network and doesn’t reach the public Internet. This might seem confusing, but it means their services stay secure and private, not connected to the regular internet.
Kind of, yes. As silly as your analogy may sound, the idea itself isn't.
In reality, all data remains in the cloud until you adjust a setting or introduce an endpoint/gateway to alter that. That’s my best guess.
