Two weeks ago there was a major issue with false positives from Avast, leading to the loss or corruption of important Windows files. I’m wondering if it’s safe to install the latest update now? Right after hearing about it, I changed my settings to manual updates to avoid any further problems. Please let me know if this fix has been confirmed or not. Thank you for your helpful feedback!

There have been no problems at all; they seem to have resolved it quickly after discovering it.
