The available RAM is insufficient for COD Warzone?
My computer has 16GB RAM and it's a desktop. I just downloaded a game from Battle.net and lowered the graphics settings in-game. The main menu shows characters, and in Task Manager, every time I look at a character, its RAM usage increases significantly, almost reaching over 8GB. The numbers keep changing, but whenever I click on an unviewed character, its RAM usage spikes again, and it doesn’t seem to stop. I think the issue gets worse while playing. Is there a reason for this? Can I fix it? Warzone also displays my VRAM incorrectly, even though my GPU is 4GB, the game thinks it’s 5GB. There doesn’t seem to be any other program running in the background.
The actual requirement is 8GB of RAM.

I really just need 8GB minimum, thanks for the link, and everything else works fine for this game, thank you. Could you also assist with Instant Replay, Highlights, or Capture options in NVIDIA GeForce Experience? I turned it on and made sure it’s enabled in the game. The description mentions automatic capture of games, I checked the relevant boxes, but do I need to do anything else? This feels like some kind of AI assistance? How should I use this feature? I want to record important moments without doing anything extra.
Sorry I had something other to do, sorry for late reply, I also switched to OBS for recording so no need for NVIDIA stuff ignore my previous comment about nvidia thing
Here is my computer,
CPU: Intel 4770K 4cores (HT enabled)
Motherboard: Pro Gamer ASUS
Ram: 16GB DDR3 dual channel
SSD/HDD: HDD 7200rpm desktop 2TB - kingston SSD 256GB (OS installed on it)
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1060 4GB
PSU: Corsair something 1000 80 plus
Chassis: literally have no idea, it been almost a decade I have been using (but it have good cooling)
OS: Windows 10 Pro
Monitor: ViewSonic standard 1080p 60hz
Should I give another try to the game? I will make sure close everything before entering the game, just my anti-virus is on alone. I also noticed since last time hitting DELETE on Task Manager to end game froze up my computer for a 5 seconds so gotta me remember that to not do it again,
It appears my worries were wasted; I started a match with graphics set to low to mid, and everything functioned perfectly. Just remember, avoid looking at the operator during character selection—it keeps loading until RAM is full, which is fine. In fact, I played with up to 40% CPU usage and it performed well.
Warzone consumes a lot of RAM; my 32GB drive is nearly full most of the time. Warzone isn't well optimized.
The issue seems to stem from Activision's approach, where developers focus mainly on profit, leading to compromised graphics settings. After adjusting some sliders, my file in the game directory got corrupted, requiring me to remove it to restore functionality. Back in the 2000s, such problems were rare, and games were more enjoyable with better quality. It's disappointing to see this trend.
Remember when the Win32 era kept total application usage at 2GB (except for PAE or the /3GB option)? Most programs used that amount by the end of XP, and you hardly noticed. Now the rule is gone, making it clear when an app consumes huge amounts of RAM without any restrictions.
