Hello everyone,
While playing CS2, I’m noticing some screen tearing or flickering. This affects the smoothness of the 144Hz experience, even though my system and monitor are set to that frequency and my FPS is around 200. The game still doesn’t feel like it’s running at a true 144Hz—there’s a noticeable lag, especially during fast actions like spraying, where the screen shakes or jitters more clearly.

I’ve tried several solutions so far:
- Reinstalling and reinstalling GPU drivers via DDU
- Optimizing display settings
- Enabling V-Sync
- Using a different 144Hz monitor
- Switching to another DisplayPort cable

Despite these efforts, the game still lacks smoothness. It feels like there are small stutters or minor jittering, making it hard to enjoy the fluidity that 144Hz should provide. The screen doesn’t glide smoothly but instead drags slightly, as if on a rough surface rather than a clean one.

My system details:
RTX 2060
Ryzen 5 3600
16 GB RAM

Anyone have suggestions or ideas to help fix this? Your support would be greatly appreciated!

Even with a strong FPS and a 144Hz monitor, the game still doesn’t run smoothly. It’s difficult to put into words, but there are tiny stutters or slight jitters. The screen seems to drag rather than glide, as if it’s moving on a rough or uneven surface instead of a flat one. This affects the overall experience, making it hard to appreciate the smoothness 144Hz is meant to provide.

To help convey your issue, you may need to show other media that illustrates what you’re facing. Here are the details of your system:

System specs:
RTX 2060
Ryzen 5 3600
16 GB RAM
When discussing troubleshooting, it’s standard to share full system specifications. Please list them clearly as follows:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:

Include the age of the PSU along with its make and model. Also, mention the current BIOS version for your motherboard.

Check your 1% low frame rate. If it consistently drops significantly, it might be the reason for the stuttering, usually due to the CPU struggling, particularly when GPU usage decreases during those moments. However, CS 2 is an online game, and high ping fluctuations in such games can also lead to this choppy experience. Keep an eye on your ping while playing and note any times it exceeds normal levels.
