I’m experiencing a problem with audio on my Dell Optiplex 980 mini tower, which features a Core i5 processor and Realtek High Definition Audio. I recently purchased and installed Watch_Dogs for PC, but the sound isn't working at all. Despite researching online and attempting numerous solutions – including updating my audio drivers, increasing the volume to its maximum level, and trying various fixes – nothing has resolved the issue. Furthermore, I discovered that Nvidia High Definition Audio is also installed on my computer, which I don’t understand. I’m concerned about compatibility with DirectX 9 as well. My problem remains unresolved, and I'm becoming increasingly frustrated because I can’t play the game. Please assist me urgently. Thank you.

if you’ve downloaded the watch dogs game, there’s an issue… try the hotfix from reloaded: http://kickass.to/watch-dogs-update-1-ho...56250.html

The audio issue with WATCH DOGS hasn’t been resolved. I experienced the same problem and it was incredibly frustrating. The game functioned correctly during my initial installation, but then my Windows crashed. After reinstalling Windows and re-installing the game, there was no sound. I've attempted to reinstall it multiple times without success.

However, users here have found a solution that works for me. Here’s the link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/...aspx?id=35.

I believe this will assist those with complete silence; I'm unsure if it will be effective for everyone else.

Best of luck!

SECURITY PROGRAMS ARE CAUSING AUDIO ISSUES – PROBLEM RESOLVED
I experienced the exact same issue, and it was incredibly frustrating. The game functioned perfectly during its initial installation… however, my computer then crashed. I reinstalled Windows and re-installed the game, but this time there’s no sound output. I've tried reinstalling it several times without success.
THIS SOLUTION WORKS FOR MANY PEOPLE!

I believe this will resolve completely silent situations for users with absolutely no audio. I’m unsure if it will help others.
BEST OF LUCK
This solution successfully resolved the issue, thank you very much, Richard van Wyk

I attempted to download the file, but it reported a required cabinet file that couldn't be trusted. It requested me to check my Cryptographic Services…etc.

In 2020, I purchased Watch Dogs and attempted every solution to fix the audio issues, but it remains unresolved. The DirectX installer simply informed me that I possessed a current version, dismissing my problem with “nothing to do here.”

During 2020, the game initially functioned correctly with satisfactory audio for approximately one week following installation, but experienced crashes after removing temporary files from my SSD which were subsequently resolved. However, since then, I’ve encountered no audio output except when participating in multiplayer sessions. Specifically, this issue arose while utilizing USB-C headphones; upon exiting the game, they ceased to function and only my internal speakers remained operational. I verified the headphones' functionality with my mobile phone, confirming they operated normally with other applications. It appears “Watch Dogs” has altered a computer setting without my knowledge, thereby disabling the headphone feature, or alternatively, that my USB-C port is entirely damaged. I haven’t yet attempted to test the port with another USB-C device due to lacking a suitable alternative. I am understandably dissatisfied with this situation. (The game and Uplay are both installed on the hard drive).
