I’m not sure if this relates to software restrictions on the laptop or another factor, but the core problem is low frame rates. All programs seem limited to around 200 fps. Notably, Osu! only maintains a steady 200-250 average (though it fluctuates slightly), staying within 3-5 fps of that range. The GPU0 (3080) is reported at about 50% usage, which appears excessive given the output rate. Task manager indicates the GPU0 is fully utilized, and it’s labeled as the sole GPU in use. For comparison, my older machine can reach 2000 fps with just 40% usage at 1080p. Valorant also faces similar issues, but the ratio of fps to usage is more balanced. I’m curious why this model underperforms so much in a game as straightforward as Osu!, especially when it runs smoothly on my current setup. This feels sluggish compared to what I expect, even with double the resolution and only a few milliseconds added. More concerning is that it still hits high performance modes while delivering far below expectations. Specs: Asus ROG Zephyrus 15 - GA503QS-212.R93080 R9 5900H 16GB 2x8 3200mhz CL22 RTX 3080 Max-Q 2560x1440p 165hz panel 1TB NVMe Windows 10. I’ve tried a fresh driver, but the only available option is the manufacturer’s for this model. In NVIDIA Control Panel, it’s set to dedicated with performance mode enabled via Armoury CRATE. The in-game limits are turned off, though I might be missing something else. I haven’t adjusted afterburner except for monitoring. Temperatures shouldn’t exceed 76°C according to Furmark data. Images attached below. What you’re seeing is unusual compared to my desktop experience, which feels sluggish despite higher pixel count and minimal overhead.
