I'm dealing with an Asus G14 and trying to resolve why its screen keeps showing dim. I've checked the settings, updated drivers, and even installed a replacement LCD screen and cable, but nothing seems to work. I've worked with computers for a while and this issue is really frustrating. Anyone have any ideas or solutions? Also, I tried using the My Asus service without success.

I've also attempted to reset the BIOS. Now I'm beginning to suspect the motherboard might be faulty.

Find the circuit managing the backlight brightness, likely on the motherboard. Inspect for faulty parts such as capacitors and resistors. Good luck!

I also looked into it just to be sure—it could be the MB, but it seems fine. Great suggestion overall!
