I've encountered a strange issue with my computer not starting properly. It emitted six short beeps during POST and became stuck in a loop. I reviewed the motherboard manual, but it didn't reference a six-beep code. No online help was found, so I contacted ASUS support via email and will follow up if they respond. After removing the graphics card, switching the VGA cable to the chipset port, and later taking out the 8GB RAM stick, the machine stopped responding altogether and shut down after a few minutes. Resetting the CMOS and RAM restored the original behavior—six beeps followed by a bootloop. I moved each RAM stick into every slot and the problem persisted. This unusual pattern is quite unusual, so I'm curious about what might be causing it.

I believed six beeps correspond to the GPU.

The device continues to emit a beep six times even though no GPU is present and the monitor is linked via the chipset.

Official guidance suggests verifying your keyboard connection to the correct port. The situation may vary based on your configuration. Earlier, a similar problem arose due to an improperly connected USB port, which resolved by disconnecting all USB devices.

All other connections were removed, but the system kept emitting six beeps.

keyboard uses PS/2 connection, yet plugging in a USB keyboard to the top port doesn't work.
