The Asus P8Z77-V LK2 USB keyboard fails to function during post and bios setup.
I looked through many online sources to discover a solution for my USB keyboards failing to work during post to access BIOS settings. I found an older second-hand PS/2 keyboard and others suggested enabling *USB legacy support*, *USB 3.0*, and turning off fast boot while choosing normal boot instead. However, the keyboards still didn’t function after testing two different ones. They turn on during boot and post but pressing DEL to enter BIOS doesn’t work. I need to connect my PS/2 keyboard to reach BIOS without having to do it repeatedly. I tried various USB ports—both back and front panel—and used a gaming Corsair Strafe RGB MK2 keyboard along with an old regular USB Lenovo keyboard. Any suggestions?
What is the BIOS version of your motherboard currently? Regarding USB ports, could you also mention which ones you've attempted to use with your USB keyboards? For Windows 10 users, is it possible to access BIOS by holding the Shift key during the restart command? In the operating system GUI, when you initiate a reboot from Start, pressing and holding the Shift key should display a blue screen offering advanced options, troubleshooting, and UEFI firmware settings. Additionally, please confirm if your Intel Management Engine firmware is up to date (check the bottom of the page).

Thank you for your message. The issue was resolved after installing the Intel Management Engine firmware. I don't understand its purpose or connection to the USB problem, but it worked successfully!
