I attempted it myself. I even utilized the USB that came with Windows 10. However, it refused to allow me to proceed for a certain reason, though I'm willing to try again.

That seems unusual. Should I consult someone with more experience?

I arrived here seeking guidance on any possible solutions. I’m concerned about my CPU failing, as it’s only a year old. I’m unsure what else I can do, especially since a fresh Windows install hasn’t helped.

I'm not very experienced here. There are lots of folks with more knowledge. Could I message a few moderators?

I had the option, but I prefer not to feel like a burden, which is why I started this discussion. Thank you for your feedback.

MMOs often struggle with optimization for just one core, leading to occasional slowdowns—this is unavoidable. Even games like FFXIV can drop under heavy player traffic in certain areas. Arkham Knight seems rough, but you should be enjoying Killing Floor 2. Just to confirm, @Kloaked has a 980 and a 6600K spec, which matches your setup, and I’m aware he played Killing Floor 2. Have you seen similar FPS performance issues? Also, have you updated your drivers? A clean installation is available, and you can reinstall them using DDU. Lastly, make sure your PC isn’t set to power-saving mode.

Killing floor 2 had problems until I changed it to VSYNC. The game was unstable with many frames, but I’m unsure if a clean install helped. I removed my integrated graphics using DDU and then updated the latest NVIDIA drivers. My settings are set to "High Performance," and in advanced options, CPU and system cooling are at 100% max.

We're referring to particular games. Have you verified your graphics card clock settings? It's possible it was unintentionally adjusted.

I played Blade & Soul, ArcheAge, Borderlands 2, Batman Arkham Knight, Ark:Survived Evolved (this game was extremely slow), Overwatch (had issues until I enabled VSync, then it stabilized at 60 FPS), Mortal Kombat X works well unless it switches between cutscenes and combat, Metal Gear Solid V is smooth so far, DOOM runs perfectly, and Heroes of the Storm causes occasional lag. It's a bit odd though!
