The Asus Dual GTX 1060 6GB OC model can experience FPS spikes due to its high overclocking potential.
I recently purchased a GTX 1060 OC edition from Asus and have encountered some problems. I’m able to play Doom smoothly at around 60 FPS without any issues, but MMOs cause random spikes dropping to 40 FPS and then rising back up. I’ve also noticed significant spikes in Batman Arkham Knight, which might be due to poor optimization. Games like Killing Floor 2 have presented similar challenges. Adjusting VSync settings helped a bit, though it still causes FPS fluctuations when not using them. I haven’t removed drivers or updated the BIOS, but I tried those fixes without success. I disabled power-saving features in the BIOS and even changed settings, but nothing resolved the issue. I’m running all my specs listed below and hope you can suggest further steps. If you need more details, just let me know.
Syncs your output with your screen's refresh speed, often easing jitter. Adjust in-game options near A and observe improvements.
That’s the issue, actually. The graphics card paired with my CPU should handle any game I’m playing at 60 FPS and 1080p resolution. I’m not seeing any frame drops or VSync problems. It’s just confusing why I’m still having trouble understanding it.
Sure, I've got the Windows 10 64-bit version with driver 376.33 installed.
Restarting Windows 10 is not a full reinstall. You can update, repair, or roll back the installation.
I resolved it by following the correct steps and ensuring everything was configured properly.
