I have an Asus B550-Prime that just won't enter the BIOS no matter what I try and was hoping someone would have an idea of something that maybe I haven't done yet. The machine did NOT work upon arrival at my house so here is a short list of the contents of the machine. MOBO - Asus B550-Prime Ram- 2x8 Crucial DDR4 (16Gig Total) (1) Unknown Brand 512GB SSD the print is so small can't read it even with magnifying glass. (1) Toshiba 512GB 2.5 inch HDD Onboard Video. That's it for what's inside. Not much but would think that locating the issue would be that much easier to find. Nope. Things I have tried. Of course the things I did I made sure to turn off and unplug the power first. Resetting the BIOS by shorting the pins for RTC. Nope. Removing the battery and shorting the pins for RTC. Nope. Removed the HDD and reset the BIOS by shorting the pins. Nope. Removed the SSD and reset the BIOS by shorting the pins. Nope. Unplugged EVERYTHING (including the drives) and reset the BIOS by resetting the pins. Nope. At this point in time the only thing I have connected is the keyboard and even that is not any help. When booting the machine with just the keyboard I receive the following display. ========== USB Devices total: 0 Drive, 1 Keyboard, 1 Mouse, 0 Hub Please enter setup to recover BIOS setting. USB Device Over Current Status Detected !!! System will Shut Down After 15 Seconds. ========================= Like I said, I have tried everything that I can think of, with and without the battery, but nothing seems to work. I recently attempted to use a USB flash drive with the Windows Media Creation Tool while the SSD and Toshiba drives were installed. The Toshiba was detected but neither device functioned properly. I expected the tool to start the process after Windows installation, but it didn’t work. Updated September 17, 2022 by kb5zue Apologies, the board is an Asus B350-Plus
