I've been checking the manual but couldn't find what I'm looking for. My old Xeon 14/28 2680V4 server works great for my home setup, but I found a used Threadripper with Taichi TRX40. The main issue is missing PCI-E slots—boards are costly. Right now I use a 10Gb NIC, an HBA, and a GPU, which is fine. I want dual GPUs because I've had proxmox problems before, though it's unclear if the TRX40 can handle it. I'm short one port and would like to add two GPUs, but I can't find any guidance in the manual or spec pages. Even my Chinese off-brand X99 board supports it today... anyone have ideas?

the initial X99 comes from Ali Express and performed very well on these boards, though they consume a lot of power. I’m considering swapping it for a TRx40 configuration that’s available through my offer. Could you clarify what you mean by your comment? I just want to confirm if the Asrock board is compatible with bifurcation since it isn’t listed in the manual before purchase. From what I found, most TRx40 boards support these server components. The main issue with the X99 Chinese version is its minimal PCI ports—only three PCIe X16 slots, one possibly X4—and it works well with an HBA, 10G NIC, and GPU, but lacks expansion options.

It's an online retailer specializing in Chinese-made products. They offer a wide range of unusual electronics. This is where I'd start searching for a comparison board. Updated June 23, 2023 by Bombastinator
