Hello everyone, I need to admit I'm not very familiar with Linux. I just set up Ubuntu Studio on a Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P Rev 1.0 running BIOS Version F1. It has an AMD FX8350 processor, 8GB of GSkill RAM, a Nvidia GT630 graphics card, and a random Avermedia soundcard. Everything seems to be working fine except the USB mouse and keyboard which aren't hot-swappable. This isn’t a major concern for me. The problem I face is that whenever I power off the machine using the menu, terminal, or a physical button, it just restarts instead of shutting down properly. I’ve checked online and found some power management tips in the BIOS, but nothing helpful. Most settings are turned off. Another suggestion is to disable Wi-Fi and LAN before shutting it down. Since I’m not connected to the internet right now, that’s not a problem. They also recommend modifying /etc/default/grub, which I’ve tried without success. I’d really appreciate any advice on this Linux beginner. Thanks in advance.
Executed the command from the terminal to initiate a graceful shutdown.
I'll attempt that shortly. Need to replace the cables with my primary PC. Will revise this entry afterward.
