I recently purchased the iPad Air 13 (M2) equipped with the Apple Pencil Pro for creative projects and other activities. As someone not very familiar with Apple products, I have limited understanding of these features. All functions operate normally, but the Pencil Pro produces a clicking noise that seems to indicate a mechanical problem. While I’d be fine with the sound, the clicking occurs when increasing drawing pressure, affecting the brush’s pressure sensitivity in an unnatural way. The nib has been removed and reinserted without resolving the issue. Is this a manufacturing defect, or is there something wrong with my usage? I need to decide whether to return it before the 14-day return period ends or adapt to the limitation if no better alternatives exist.
It doesn't seem quite right, though maybe it could be. The tactile response feels strong and centered around the pencil tip, with vibrations coming from there. What I'm sensing comes from the end of the tip and feels more like a solid click. I don't mind the clicking much, but the main issue is achieving smooth size changes in brush strokes.
I noticed a good opportunity to visit Best Buy again. I plan to bring it back for a replacement, and I'll update here if the new version works the same way.
Swapped it with another one. It seems to be faulty right now.
