Hello everyone, I just upgraded my processor from a Ryzen 5 5600G to a Ryzen 7 5700X. While using CineBanch R23, I noticed the CPU was throttling to around 3.85GHz. After some investigation, I learned that similar issues were resolved on previous Ryzen 3000 models with a BIOS update (American Megatrends Inc., version 2806, dated 27/10/2022). I tried it and it only increased to about 3.95GHz. I’d appreciate any tips for getting it back up to full speed. My specs include: motherboard ROG STRIX B550-A, CPU AMD Ryzen 5700X, GPU AMD Radeon RX 6700, PSU EVGA 700W, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM Corsair CL16, and RGB PRO SL lighting.

For a demanding AVX2 workload such as Cinebench at full speed, 3.95GHz is typical for a 5700X. Maximum performance appears only when a few cores are actively engaged. The 5700X comes with a 65W TDP and 88W PPT design. Your motherboard can handle more power, so using PBO will help increase PTT, TDC, and EDC values. This boosts the CPU’s ability to draw more current under stress, leading to higher overall gains.

Thank you for your message. It’s great to hear you’re starting with a PC build and learning the basics. Your setup sounds solid—200W is a bit high for a quiet Rock 4, but temperatures staying around 65°C is a good sign. Keep up the good work!

Your maximum temperature is around 95°C. It might rise a bit with a better cooling solution, but I can't confirm it. Given your CPU won’t face heavy stress during regular tasks like gaming, it probably isn’t necessary and may not be worth the investment.

The TJ capacity reaches 95°C, while the CPU operates at 59°C. Check the following line.

After turning on ASUS AI Overclocking in BIOS, I achieved a clock speed of 4.525GHz across all cores and a Cinebench score of 15,251.

Did you turn on PBO in BIOS? This thread might be useful. Make sure you understand how to clear CMOS before adjusting BIOS settings. I just noticed your recent comment after completing this.

It wouldn't begin to slow down if the hottest area matched the throttle setting.
