Hello, I attempted to upgrade my AMD CPU but it doesn’t boot. Fans spin, LEDs flash, GPU shows a blue light, yet USBs aren’t powering up. Motherboard reports no power. Details: ASRock A320M-HDV (mATX), installed AMD Ryzen 3 2300X, upgraded to AMD Ryzen 5 3600, RAM added Crucial 8GB DDR4 2666 MT/s (PC4-21300), SR x8 DIMM, 288-pin memory. GPU installed XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS XXX Edition 1386MHz OC+, 8GB GDDR5, VR ready, dual BIOS, 3xDP HDMI DVI, and AMD graphics card (RX-580P8DFD6). I suspect a BIOS update might be needed. USB ports aren’t working, and the old CPU pins are bent. What should I do next? Thanks. P.S. I’ve attached the damaged old CPU.
A320 models aren't compatible with Zen 2. Consider upgrading to a newer board like B450 or B550, which are better suited for this architecture. A320 boards are generally considered poor choices.
Here it indicates your processor should work, though your motherboard might have an old BIOS. Consider updating it. I faced similar issues with my Ryzen 3 1200, but that wasn't compatible with Zen 2.
Request the shop to upgrade the BIOS for units released three years prior. For the CPU, handle the pins gently and offer the complete board as a package.
