When you connect it and the fans start up, using a budget adapter works, and the display shows the right signal, you’ve fixed the faulty GPU. Now you must figure out how much to spend on a better one.

I understand you're referring to adapters, but they don’t automatically boost output frequencies. You might want to check if your GPU is the issue.

Yes, and even when using the GPU, it still shows a grey screen. I'm currently connecting my laptop to the display, and it functions properly.
