The advice is still very limited, but I’ve looked into it for a long time. Is this setup acceptable?

I was wondering if this setup is acceptable? Everything has already been bought or paid for, so there’s nothing more to adjust. I still have only basic understanding of rig construction and would really appreciate a knowledgeable opinion if possible. This is the most affordable option I could find given my budget constraints. The Ryzen 7 5700X costs the same as the Intel i5 1440F, which is why I chose that model. Prices might be higher depending on our location. Regarding my knowledge, it’s just relying on chatgpt and benchmark research with some ranking checks. I was hoping for a real human perspective with proper expertise, though—since chatgpt often softens things. The PC part supplier mentioned the only compatibility concern would be a BIOS update. But I’m more interested in confirming whether everything is fine. Thanks a lot!
It might have been wiser to inquire before purchasing, but the components are all of high quality. Considering the latest game launches, a 1080p configuration would be excellent and suitable for 1440p gaming with solid frame rates.
Thank you! The main concern I have is with the processor, especially for gaming purposes like 13600k or similar (but I don’t have the budget). My brother suggested investing in a quality power supply and I read about a tier list. I was told this PSU is tier A or something. Eventually, I swapped my MSI SSD for a Samsung 970 EVO because I had extra funds. The chassis came from the store, so I chose it to save money and they recommended deepcool over AIO, which means I might move this build around sometimes. The RAM is 3200MHz, aside from budget worries, ChatGPT said I don’t need to unlock my motherboard—though the website mentions it could support up to 4600/4800MHz (just curious what that means). The GPU is the most affordable option available. Thank you for your feedback. I really appreciate it.
I believe they are just discussing the RAM speed. If you can enable XMP for that RAM, the system should recognize the RAM’s performance. You might need to configure the RAM speed in the BIOS.
Is this the model you received? It could be compatible with your i5 14400, but I’m not certain about the BIOS flashback feature if it wasn’t used before. This likely depends on how long the board was stored before purchase.
I’d suggest checking the VRM/power delivery on that board first. I’m not sure a better CPU would fit well unless it’s a 65-watt unit, which the 14400 should handle.

It seems like a solid build, but consider asking before purchasing again.
I have a 12600kf that I’m considering selling. The 14400 essentially matches the performance of the 12600k but with better power efficiency, so it should work well. I switched to a 7600x3d, though honestly the i5 might have lasted a bit longer before any upgrade issues arose.
Thank you all! I didn't know this before. I really value this.
Additionally, the store mentioned (for an online order) that the stock for Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB would only be available in January of next year. They suggested Lexar NQ710M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVME Internal Solid State Drive 1TB for an extra $5.
I see that this option costs twice as much as what I currently have, but it might be worth considering if it arrives soon. Is this a better choice? Thank you!
The Lexar offers double the storage space compared to the Samsung...1 TB versus 500 GB. You're likely to find success with either option. The Lexar is a Gen 4 model, while the Samsung 970 Evo Plus is Gen 3. It seems the MSI PRO B760M-E motherboard can handle Gen 4 drives, so those would work too. The Lexar might perform better, but the difference is probably unnoticeable. I’d choose the Lexar if I required more than the Samsung’s 500 GB. However, for a 1 TB drive, it’s worth checking with the store about other available options.
No. It's not better.
It's a dramless drive with QLC nand chips.
It has significantly lower write endurance than 970 evo. Also lower write performance.
Will have higher read performance though, since it is gen4 drive.
I wouldn't use it for windows OS drive. For game library drive - it's probably fine.
Thank you all. After understanding that choosing the right brand in the long term is wise, I plan to get another SSD, install it next year, and set up the OS. I already have some surface knowledge with a clean reformat and basic partitions. Thank you for all your advice!
