I own an RX 6950 XT and consistently face the issue where the device manager driver doesn't align with the adrenaline driver. I attempted to resolve this by using DDU in safe mode, following some additional instructions, but the generic drive remains instead of the adrenaline version. When trying to locate the driver manually, there isn’t a clear option under the AMD adrenaline file. It might be the AMD software installer (version 25.11.1 minimal) or bin64. I’m not sure, but occasionally the screen becomes black randomly, and sometimes shortcuts cause the windows screen to turn off. I’ve also received window event viewer IDs, though games like coin poker and clubgg are lagging, possibly linked to issues from distributor.com. My computer’s performance has dropped recently, which might mean a factory reset is needed. This isn’t unusual for an Nvidia card, but the problems with games have caught my attention even if it’s not the sole cause. I’m also testing with integrated graphics turned off, which could be contributing to these issues.

Windows 11 29H2 (OS Build 26200 7309) is currently running on version 25H2. It raises the possibility that there might be a typo or an unfamiliar OS release we're missing. Possibly it relates to AMD software installer (25.11.1 minimal) or bin64. As long as you've obtained drivers from the provided link, follow these steps: Right click the installer and select Run as Administrator. Ensure you have the latest specifications for your system.

CPU model: CPU:9900x
Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 140 Black CPU Air Cooler
Motherboard: x870 MSI Tomahawk WIFI
RAM: G-Skill 6000 2x 16GB DDR5
Storage: WD Black SN850x 2TB SSD/HDD
GPU: 6950xt
Power Supply: Apevia ATX-MT1200W (3-4 months old)
Case: Aqua 9, ATX
Operating System: Windows 11 Pro 64bit
Display: monitor 1 XG270HU 2 WM27PX9019
BIOS Version: 2.A90
Driver location remains uncertain.
It seems unclear where the driver file is stored.
I attempted AMD cleanup Utility but encountered different drivers in the manager versus adrenaline. A minor update resolved the issue when entering DXDIAG, though an error persisted.
There appears to be a problem with the AMD Radeon™ graphics card. For more details, search for 'graphics device driver error code 22'.
I cleaned the GPU pins using Que Tip and alcohol, then re-soldered them. Around 3 am Central time, I realized this might have resolved the issue—though it’s not guaranteed. I’ve never used a motherboard with a built-in GPU connector; this design could potentially cause errors. Currently, I don’t have an extra PCIe connector available, so I’m considering buying an adapter for 5.0 and testing it.
