I usually work with Firefox having Twitch active along with a few other windows, while Discord was streaming video calls between me and some friends. The missing 25% comes from the faulty Discord setup that appears to manage the video.

Consider a Ryzen 3 3100 with a GPU if you need one. For a laptop, a Y SKU works well. If you prefer just the CPU without a GPU, go for a 1200 AF.

Some users might need higher numbers like 3900x or even a TR such as @Den-Fi, which can support multiple TR setups and often require more threads. On average, someone using 6/12 cores or 8/16 would be a typical choice in 2020. Many chips with 3600x or 3700x are available.

A Ryzen 3100 seems too powerful for these tasks; likely a 3200G would suffice. The Ryzen 1200 probably needs a GPU, and using only "G" CPUs with integrated GPUs isn't ideal.

I rechecked it earlier and confirmed the 1200 model is essentially a 2200g version but more affordable. It’s priced at $50, and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t have Vega 8. My note: just edited on May 30, 2020 by TofuHaroto

I own some budget-grade chips that don’t perform well. A 4790K quad-core will likely outperform a Ryzen 3 1200, Ryzen Athlon, or 3000G. It’s not just about thread count; for low-end boards we also need to consider low clock speeds and lower IPC.

Absolutely, I understand. It’s a solid 1200 AF with good IPC and a decent memory capacity, though the CPU isn’t top-tier. It handles the task well and includes four cores. I’m in agreement.
