Given the massive production cost of a billion dollars, it's unlikely they'd recoup profits if the service is offered for free online.

Certain games feature a token-based system. Earning tokens by watching ads allows you to use them for gameplay.

Are they doing this? Mostly they don’t let players play for free, but that doesn’t mean ads aren’t part of the experience. A game with in-game ads isn’t unusual—you can trace it back to Lucas Arts’ graphical adventures, which also used ads in their titles.

When purchasing a game with advertisements, I instantly issue a refund. Even the frequency of battle pass ads during game launches, such as in COD, feels unreasonable. I don’t mind these expensive skins and just want to play the game.

It’s even more disappointing than offering a free version with ads—we’re getting closer and closer to Fifteen Million Merits.

I hope you avoid including product placements since they often appear as advertisements. Many excellent games feature this, like Metal Gear Solid. There are also free titles with numerous product placements and downloadable content or modifications. What do you think?

Games have become more affordable than before because of inflation. People don’t really care about what you propose.
