I changed my hard drive to match my operating system (Windows 8) on another machine, but the issue persists. After removing and reinstalling the key on the new computer, it still shows the error. I’ve also uninstalled the key multiple times on the current setup without success. How can I have the computer recognize the key again?
You may attempt to start it by opening the phone's Run box, entering slui.exe, and adhering to the guidance provided there.
It varies with the technology you receive. I’m on the 2-for-2 side for fixing the key, while others here haven’t had any success. I tend to favor the online chat support team. I tried both options twice, and there were significantly fewer questions and more requests like “Let me remote in and resolve this.”
I’ve found more success with the online chat team as well. Instead of giving them access to my system and letting them act freely, I blocked their remote connection and just asked them to follow my instructions. (I was already aware of the plan; they just needed a new product key to upgrade my Windows 10 home to Windows 10 Pro so I could activate it using my Windows 8 Pro key)
