The Acer Predator Helios 300 isn't powering on or charging.
This laptop ran smoothly until I encountered issues with cloning software that began deleting the OS drive instead of the external one. After reinstalling Windows, I created a local account to access the desktop but didn’t enable internet initially, so no drivers were loaded at startup. The machine operated normally until I powered it off by pressing the power button continuously. I then repaired a dent in the frame to improve screen alignment and placed the screen back in. Despite fixing the issue, the laptop wouldn’t turn on even though the charging light was illuminated briefly before shutting down. I’ve handled the screen multiple times and tested both the laptop and charger separately; everything else seemed fine. I removed the battery and CMOS to attempt a reset, used a 35-watt charger alone, and tried with the standard charger connected or unplugged. Still, it remains unresponsive. I’ve checked previous attempts and adjusted settings extensively. I’m wondering if plugging it in without the battery will work, or if it requires power even when dead. It feels odd—maybe a driver problem or a software glitch—but I’m unsure what’s causing the failure.
