The Acer Nitro 5 experiences slow performance in specific games.
I made a post about this a little while ago, and after I thought I found a solution, I found that the problem keeps happening, just not as often. What happens is after playing some games for a while, the entire computer slows to a few frames per second, and the only things that fix it (temporarily) are restarting the computer, sleeping the computer, or disabling or enabling CoolBoost in Nitrosense. It used to happen with Genshin Impact a lot, but after upgrading my RAM, it has only happened twice. It seems to always happen in Rainbow Six Siege, and it sometimes happens in Black Ops 3. If I need to provide any specs or other information, just ask. I don't think it has anything to do with temperatures because it usually stays around 70 degrees. My GPU usage in task manager is very low, even though I have the games set to run using the Nvidia GPU in the Nvidia control panel and Windows settings, and when it starts lagging, my iGPU usage goes to almost 100%. This is a fairly new computer, and I really don't know what's going on. It makes playing a lot of games really frustrating and sometimes impossible. Also, sometimes if I don't fix the problem quickly, my computer completely shuts down. It's really strange because it can run the games at very high framerates perfectly fine until that happens. Edit: Just noticed that Nitrosense shows a completely different story. The GPU usage is apparently very high. Edited June 18, 2023 by Box of Lizards
