Hi,
I’m facing a problem with Windows 11 22h2. When I open Task Scheduler and navigate to the Windows folder, I end up in the Microsoft Update Orchestrator and click the reboot folder. The Windows update won’t launch at startup, and clicking “Disabled” shows an error. Since I’m using a local account without permissions, I can’t disable it normally. I need a way to bypass this so I can disable tasks as needed. Any suggestions?

I understand you might be saying "Because it's mine and I want to" when you ask why you disable Windows updates, and I could regret it. But I’ll still ask anyway in case I’m mistaken. Do you really want to turn off Windows updates?

What makes clicking "Pause Windows update for 7 days" seem acceptable when you’re worried it could cause issues later? It’s easy to extend it further, even though from a security and convenience perspective it’s a risky move that could leave your system exposed.

I don't wish to turn it off completely, just avoid starting it during bootup.

In the scenario where you'd maintain a paused state except for manual updates, with regular manual adjustments.
