I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey now crashes upon launch, despite functioning correctly on the older operating system. My other games operate without issue.

PC specifications:
CPU: Intel Core i3-4160 3.6GHz
Motherboard: MSI H81M-P32L
RAM: 12GB DDR3
Storage: Western Digital Blue 1TB HDD and Kingston 120GB SSD
GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB
PSU: Antec VP500P 500W 80+ Silent Power Supply
Chassis: Unknown
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

I have attempted troubleshooting steps including uninstalling and reinstalling the game, verifying file integrity through Steam, updating graphics drivers, and installing previous versions of the game. These efforts have been unsuccessful. I’ve also researched potential solutions involving motherboard chipset driver updates, though I am concerned about potential instability. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Clean installs are superior to upgrades when installing operating systems. Running Microsoft Storage Spaces RAID on the game drive prevents launching. A workaround exists at https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Assassin’s...sues_fixed.

A full Windows 10 uninstallation followed by a fresh installation is the recommended approach. To determine if Storage Spaces is in use, specify your operating system and provide details about the specific components you want to investigate.

Clean OS installs are always less prone to problems. If you are unfamiliar with Storage Space, you likely have not configured it. On the 1903 build of Windows 10, ensure you have the latest cumulative update released approximately one week prior; this resolves a false error issue that caused out-of-memory and GPU stopped-responding freeze crashes in several games. To determine your Windows 10 version, type "winver" into the search bar.

I have no intention of performing a full reinstall presently. This information is valuable nonetheless. While I believe my Windows system is fully updated, I will verify this later tonight. I will provide an update and express my gratitude for your assistance.
