Written by @ClxMase Copyright Notice © 2021 Mason Gibson ALL Rights Reserved TW * ADULT LANGUAGE [Introduction] Hello everyone! Today we are going to be talking about a specific game. Okay but before we get into that I am going to introduce myself. My name is Mason and I am a COD Veteran. I do many other things on the side. Alright everyone hold on and put on your seat-belts because we are going for one hell of a ride. [Details] The specific game we are talking about today is known as Warzone. The Battle Royale title has amassed millions of users since its release in March of 2019. Popular among many kids today this game has attracted so many people who play it every single day. However most people don't know the real problems and secrets of this Call Of Duty title. This game is complete garbage. There are so many things wrong with this game and it continues to disappoint. The game however before it's integration with Call Of Duty Black Ops Cold War was amazing! As far as I know the game was handed off to Raven Software after the BOCW Integration. However even before that there was so many problems but it still wasn't as bad as it is now. One of the most major problems with Warzone was that it had absolutely no Anti-Cheat. This lead to 1000's of people cheating. Even as of June, 2021 they still have failed to introduce an Anti-Cheat. Now there "technically" is one but it is the most basic ass trashy childish garbage I have ever seen. It is commonly referred to as the Snapshot because it takes pictures of your screen. This anti-cheat fails to ever work properly and no matter what it just doesn't work unless the game crashes. In turn they do actually ban cheaters but most of the time the ones they do ban content creators had to notify the creators. I give them a little credit for trying but their stupid snapshot garbage and their report ban system is terrible. Now as to the specific reason people are cheating, It is all because of a one matchmaking system Warzone uses as for Modern Warfare 2019 and BOCW. This is most commonly known as Skill-Based-Matchmaking or SBMM. If you don't know what SBMM does it pretty much pairs you up with other people who are the same skill level as you. This is the most terrible thing a game could ever do simply because of the philosophy behind it. SBMM is ruining player experiences across multiple different games as well. It ruins the fun from games and it naturally makes people angry and then over and over again gives them the urge to cheat which then in turn just ruins the game even more. The entire philosophy behind SBMM is just stupid. It should have NEVER have been implemented into any Call Of Duty Title. [Details 2] We have already covered the topic of the large cheating problem and matchmaking problem in Warzone but there is still more stuff to cover. Lets talk about one of the more interesting parts of this Call Of Duty Title. The performance of this game is extremely bad. Warzone as a whole is so badly optimized that people with brand new RTX 3090's are barely even able to get over 100fps. Me alone with a 3070 can barely get over 80fps. I have tried everything in my power to optimize this game to run better on my machine but even with those optimizations the game still runs poorly. However, I do understand that there is 150 players in each game and that can lead to some issues but even in the game mode Plunder where there is pretty much always small player count it still runs poorly. In turn if it's that bad they should really just downgrade the lobby player count to 100 like most normal BR games. When you go so overboard with something and considering the map size of Warzone there is no reason to have 150 players. I terms of scale it is honestly a lot similar maybe a bit bigger than the popular BR Fortnite as far as map size goes. Considering how popular both games are Raven Should be trying so hard to compete and bring more players so in turn they can make more profits. However their philosophy is that as long as there is a player-base they won't do jack shit. Maybe adjust a few things here and there but overall they won't do anything. As soon as numbers start going down for example the addition of the "new" map Verdansk 84. The ONLY reason that was ever introduced was because the numbers were going down. The over player base was just leaving. However, Verdansk 84 did spark more and new players so they pretty much just regained it back and went back to doing nothing. Moving on to the topic of this game on Consoles. Next Gen and Previous Gen. Let's start with PGEN (Previous Generation Consoles). PGEN Warzone is the worst experience you could EVER have playing any game on any console ever. The over performance of Warzone and the lack of features is just TERRIBLE. Compared to PC Players there is a MASSIVE disadvantageous for PGEN Players which is still a large majority of the Player Base considering this game has been around for 3 years. Now I get people will just fanboy and blame it on the engine but if you actually had any knowledge about how game engines work you wouldn't exactly blame it on the "game engine". However, If we take the NGEN (Next Generation Consoles) and look at what they are doing over there it is extremely underwhelming considering these amazing pieces of technology are worthless when it comes to this game. The lack of features for NGEN Consoles is just sad. For someone who owns a PS5 I actually hate Warzone on Consoles (PGEN Console Owner). I actually played Warzone on a PGEN Console (XBOX1X) it was terrible. Staying on course here the performance of Warzone on NGEN Consoles is pretty good all things considered but the lack of support like I said is terrible. They actually just added about a week ago from writing this support for 4k120 on the PS5. Kinda funny considering this console has been out for I think at least 6-7 months now. Oh how the tables have turned but if you look at the Xbox Series X 4k120 was added FOREVER AGO! Which is completely unfair and madness to people who actually own a PS5. However that isn't even the bottom of the pit. Even with the raw power of these NGEN consoles they have still failed to add the FOV Slider for NGEN Consoles which are more powerful than most common gaming computers that go for around $1000 today. Now I obviously do understand that they have to "port" the game over to the new NGEN Consoles in order to achieve the FOV slider. In my opinion that is complete bullsh*t. They have had half a year to integrate Warzone to next gen consoles properly but no. They insisted it was too difficult. For being a company worth over a billion dollars Activision sure does know how to fund a company which is working on most likely their most successful game in the entire COD Franchise. - TO BE CONTINUED - [edit: I am writing this late and will continue it in the morning! Feel free to leave your opinion. All are accepted.]

People don’t criticize Activision for lootboxes and raffles because they see them as part of the gaming experience. It’s mainly EA that introduced these systems, and fans often accept them as normal features. The confusion comes from differing perspectives on fairness and monetization.

It seems you're expressing a strong opinion about an EA being extremely self-interested. Would you like to discuss this further or explore related ideas?

The most recent time Activision offered a 50% discount on Steam was during the MMO sale in 2023.

It's pretty accurate, though they often provide a 50% discount on the games available on Battlenet.

They won’t charge that sweet 30% discount for steam, that’s a relief. No complaints about Activision either, lol.

Since Star Wars Battlefront 2 and most casual observers still believe cod hasn't lost its chance (even though Infinite Warfare seemed to send a strong message), they continue to engage with it. And the strange truth is their public relations team is just as lacking as that of the 45th President.

Isn't it clear that Warzone was meant to be a one-year active title? Just like every Call of Duty release gets its first year of support, selling, then dropping for the next one, keeping prices at launch so players buy the newest version instead of the old one. Essentially, everything that happened after the initial window or during the mid-release period was due to the fact that it was definitely not intended to run this long actively. They saw this in the data and decided to keep going, which is unusual for a recent game.
