Choose the A10-7850K or A10-7870K; the 7850K offers superior value for performance.

Looking for a 4GB 2x2 1600 RAM setup since APUs perform better with more memory. A 320GB HDD available on eBay for $30, paired with a 400W PSU and $30 for an APS or A8 motherboard.

You're aiming for a solid build for vanilla Minecraft. Look for a Core 2 Quad Q6600, 4-8GB DDR2 RAM, a G31 motherboard, and a 7770 GPU. Skip the APU to maximize value—those parts should stay under $60 each. The CPU should be around $15, RAM up to $20, the board $40-50, and the GPU $50-60. Use the rest of your budget wisely.

the graphics card isn't the issue; minecraft relies heavily on the cpu, which an a6s struggles with. an a8 would perform much better, particularly when boosted.

AMD's APUs serve as a comparable version to the Celeron line. They feature solid graphics capabilities, while the processing unit remains quite underpowered.

Yes, the E5400 works well with a GT610.

It's a dual-core processor. These CPUs struggle a lot in games due to limited threads. The R7700 offers the top performance at that price point.
