Sure, it's fine. The issue might be related to the slot configuration—using PCIe 4.0 on a PCIe 3.0 slot could cause problems.

Choose the top PCIe slot for Gen 4 compatibility. This should resolve the issue.

Check the manual. It will only work if OP has an 11th gen CPU: There's also no indication that it can step down to PCIe 3.0, it may be 4.0 only (thus disabling it on 10th gen chips instead of just dropping it to 3.0 bandwidth).
