Up until now, reaching the 3.5 GB level has already caused performance drops below 60 fps, so many users reduce their settings to maintain above 60 while sacrificing VRAM. I haven’t experienced any issues. I’m a bit disappointed since this doesn’t provide as strong a sli option, but it did perform well initially. An 8 GB or even 6 GB version would have been ideal for sli. Overall, I’m still satisfied it worked and has been functioning smoothly so far.

If you land the hit, performance will decrease. +1 for R9 290X

I run 93 mods in my Skyrim copy, about 80 of which are graphical. I’m using ENB at 1080p max, and my GTX 970 stays under 3GB VRAM with a steady 60+ FPS.

They say the 290x isn't completely DirectX 12 ready, but it still has most of the capabilities. This shouldn't be a big issue. A 970 or a decent 290x works just fine.

I’d like one, but the local shop is out of stock and I can’t place an order online. Of course, if someone nearby in Montreal is willing to assist me, I have cash available. Just no credit card accepted. It’s tough being 16.

Some benchmarks show a 970 ran GTA V in high settings at 1440p with 45-60 FPS.

It will deliver the complete performance advantage of DX12, which is what most people are interested in. No one on the AMD side is complaining about missing DSR or MFAA.

It doesn't worsen the situation further compared to when it first launched, but using 0.5 less gigabyte causes it to fall behind in higher resolution or anti-aliasing tests versus the 290X. Especially noticeable at 1440p and above.
